Your voices can save my life.
My name is Bogdan Stupka, i’m Ukranian. I’ve recently graduated from school in Lviv. My father is missing in action at 2023, my brother become a disabled that winter. And I have to go to war this fall. There is no chanse for us to escape - all thee state borders are closed and military police hunts on the streets - you may find lots of videos at YouTube. I’m still too yong for a few months.
During the last 2 years almoust all the men from our building left the country (while it was possible) or were mobilised. Lots of them already died on the frontline. Many other came back home crippled. Most of them were just caught on the street and sent to the front line. Those, who returned, told that they hadn’t even been trained properly. Every single day they were thrown to attack Russian positions or waited for an attack with poor defencive equipment.
We don’t believe there soon will be peace in Ukraine. Zelensky doesn’t do anything to make it possible: he’s just begging for more weapons and money, sending oldsters and young people to the front! Soon there will be no one left in Ukraine to study, create families and rebuild the country!
The peace summit in Switzerland on the 15-16th of June called by Zelensky can’t solve anything. That is because Zelensky doesn’t need peace. We see that he needs war to stay in power and stay alive, sacrificing our lives. The summit won’t take into account the opinions of ordinary Ukrainians, especially of young people: we don’t want to die for nothing! Politicians will gather in Switzerland once again and decide everything for us: they will just continue war to make even more billions of dollars and euros. But all my friends and I will be sent to die on the front for nothing! We need not the Eastern territories, we need peacefull living!
I’m writing to you on behalf of my friends, classmates and our mothers. I really want to survive and I want this war to end as soon as possible. We don’t need arms supply to die with - we need peace! Support us - support the pupils and students of Ukraine. Tell the people of Switzerland the truth about what really happens in Ukraine, how the army catches men at the street! My father was on the Maidan in Kyiv - he believed in our country’s future. Now Zelensky destroys the future of Ukraine.
Maybe you can organize a conference or a round table to draw attention to the real problems of the Ukrainian people after than useless summit? Or you could sign some sort of petition in support of the Ukrainian students and their right for a bright future rather than war? We don’t know anymore what to do and who to ask for help. One thing is certain: we can’t turn to the Ukrainian authorities, because they simply don’t care. Please help us!
