Deshalb wollen wir den (ehem.) Karlsplatz zu unserem machen.

RAUMNAHME & KOLLEKTIVE PLATZUMBENENNUNG DES KARLSPLATZ:
27.09.2020, 15:00 – 20:00

In den vergangenen Wochen hat uns die gemeinsame Wut über Feminizide und patriarchale Gewalt auf die Straße gebracht. Feminizide sind keine Einzelfälle oder Familiendramen, sondern Morde an Frauen*, inter, nichtbinären oder trans Personen aufgrund ihres Geschlechts. Dahinter steht ein ganzes System patriarchaler Gewalt, das in seiner Struktur sichtbar gemacht werden muss. Feminizide sind kein privates Problem, sondern ein gesellschaftliches und müssen als solches angegriffen werden.

Patriarchale Gewalt beginnt bereits damit, uns in Kategorien zu zwängen und uns entlang dieser zu hierarchisieren, abzuwerten und auszubeuten. Auf dieser strukturellen Abwertung baut auch das patriarchale Selbstverständnis in der gegenwärtigen österreichischen Gesellschaft auf. Wir wollen diesen patriarchalen Normalzustand durchbrechen, indem wir die weltweiten patriarchalen, kapitalistischen und kolonialistischen Verhältnisse benennen und unsere Wut in die Öffentlichkeit tragen, uns gemeinsam Raum aneignen und nach einer kollektiven feministischen Praxis suchen.

Am 27.09.2020 sind wir am Karlsplatz, besetzen den Ort, nehmen uns Raum, um gemeinsam zu diskutieren, auf welch vielfältige Weisen wir antworten können. Wir stellen einen Rahmen für ein Nachdenken über eine solche kollektive Praxis:
wir malen gemeinsam Transpis, basteln Stancils und Masken, gedenken kollektiv, nehmen uns den Ort auditiv und mit Performances (mit Kerosin95, kollektiver Las Tesis Performance, uvm.).
Außerdem beschließen wir gemeinsam, wie wir diesen Ort nennen.

Nehmen wir uns den Platz als symbolischen Ort der Politisierung von patriarchaler Gewalt! Das Private ist und bleibt politisch!
Diese Raumnahme ist von den Mobilisierungen und Streiks in Lateinamerika inspiriert und wurde bereits von vielen Städten aufgenommen. Während er in Zürich oder Freiburg gelebte Praxis ist, fehlte in Wien noch ein gemeinsamer Ort, um sich angesichts der kontinuierlichen patriarchalen Gewalt und Feminizide auszutauschen. Das wollen wir ändern.

Es lädt ein autonomes, feministisches Kollektiv ein mit unter anderem der AG Feministischer Streik der Plattform Radikale Linke, Kollektiv lauter*, Ni Una Menos Austria, Hispano feministas, Kollektiv antikoloniale Interventionen und viele mehr.

Por eso queremos hacer la (ex.) Karlsplatz nuestra plaza.

TOMA DE ESPACIO Y RENOMBRAMIENTO COLECTIVO DE LA KARLSPLATZ:
27.09.2020, 15:00 – 22:00

En las últimas semanas, la indignación común por los feminicidios y la violencia patriarcal nos ha llevado a las calles. Los feminicidios no son casos aislados o dramas familiares, sino asesinatos de mujeres*, personas inter, no binarias o trans debido a su género/identidad. Tras ellos hay un amplio sistema de violencia patriarcal, que debe ser hecho visible en su estructura. Los feminicidios no son un problema privado, sino social que como tal debe ser combatido.

La violencia patriarcal comienza ya al imponernos categorías y al jerárquizarnos, desvalorizarnos y explotarnos a lo largo de las mismas. Esta devaluación estructural es la base de la mentalidad patriarcal de la sociedad austriaca contemporánea. Queremos romper esta normalidad patriarcal nombrando las condiciones patriarcales, capitalistas y coloniales en todo el mundo y sacar nuestra rabia a las calles, apropiándonos del espacio juntes y buscando una práctica feminista colectiva.

El 27.09.2020 estaremos en Karlsplatz, ocupando el lugar, tomando espacio para discutir juntes sobre las diversas formas en que podemos responder. Estableciendo un marco para poder reflexionar sobre futuras prácticas colectivas:
pintaremos pancartas juntes, haremos talleres de stancils y máscaras, conmemoraremos colectivamente a las que ya nos están, tomaremos el lugar auditivamente y con performances (Kerosin95, Las Tesis: un violador en tu camino)
También decidiremos juntes cómo llamaremos a este sitio en el futuro.

¡Tomemos este espacio como un lugar simbólico de politización de la violencia patriarcal! ¡Lo privado es y seguirá siendo político!

Esta toma de espacio está inspirada en las movilizaciones y huelgas en América Latina y ya ha sido adoptado por varias otras ciudades. Mientras que en Zúrich o Friburgo ya es práctica habitual desde hace tiempo, Viena todavía no teníamos un lugar común para intercambiar opiniones y experiencias sobre la sempiterna violencia patriarcal y los feminicidios. Queremos que esto cambie.

Therefore we want to make the (former) Karlsplatz our own.

TAKING SPACE & COLLECTIVE RENAMING OF KARLSPLATZ:
27.09.2020, 3-8 pm.

In the past few weeks, our common rage about feminicides and patriarchal violence has brought us to the streets. Feminicides are neither isolated cases nor family dramas, but murders of women*, inter, non-binary or trans people because of their gender. Behind this lies a whole system of patriarchal violence, which must be made visible in its structure. Feminicide is not a private problem, but a social one and must be attacked as such.

Patriarchal violence already starts by forcing us into categories and hierarchising, devaluing and exploiting us along them. This structural devaluation is also the basis of the patriarchal self-image in contemporary Austrian society. We want to break through the patriarchal status quo by naming the patriarchal, capitalist and colonialist conditions worldwide, and by bringing our rage into the public sphere, by appropriating space together and by searching for a collective feminist practice.

On 27.09.2020 we will be at Karlsplatz, occupying the place, taking space to discuss together about the multiple ways in which we can respond. We provide a framework for reflection on such collective practice:
we paint transpis together, make stancils and masks, commemorate collectively, take the place audibly and with performances (with Kerosin95, collective Las Tesis performance, and more)
We will also decide collectively on how to name this place.

Let us take the place as a symbolic space for politicising patriarchal violence! The private is and remains political!

This space is inspired by the mobilisations and strikes in Latin America and has already been taken up by many cities. While it has already been a practice in Zurich or Freiburg for a long time, Vienna still lacked a common place to exchange views in the face of ongoing patriarchal violence and feminicides. We want to change that.
